2 yearsUp to 6 of the 15, by selection, may be offered two years of teaching at Kadam from July 2027 (from April for those finalised early). ₹4,000 a month in year 1 and ₹6,000 in year 2, with stay and food on campus and the B.Ed (CCSU Meerut, through BKPJM) covered. A two-year written commitment, explained in full before you accept. Offers go to selected candidates within 30 days of Spark ending.

The Kadam way: one block, all three at once
At Kadam, big and small isn’t taught sitting down. The children go out to look for big and small leaves, help a friend find one, carry them in, arrange them, answer didi’s questions, and sing a song about the leaves. That was the maths period. Body, mind and heart in one block, not three subjects in three periods. Open each one.

Our health and our habits shape what we think, and whether we can act on it. It begins with the big movements, walking, balancing, running, climbing, hanging, and goes on to the small ones: threading, cutting, pasting, drawing, buttoning a shirt.

Every day starts with an hour of it. Structured play, free play, messy play, and risky play: a ladder, rings near the ceiling, a foam pit underneath, a child climbing, hanging and dropping. The adults make the ground soft and stay out of the way.

दिमाग Mental The root of all innovation and all destruction.
Memory, understanding, thinking, creativity, and the two we get asked about most: language and numbers. It starts with a child asking what is this? what is that? and grows into what can I do with this? how does the world work?

Language. Hindi first, and English after. Stories are told aloud and written down exactly as they were spoken, uncorrected; six children told more than forty of them in one year, and Kadam printed them. Numbers. Nobody recites them. How many bananas today, how many animals in the story. Beads in the hand first, then dots on a page, and the symbol last, when a child has met the need for it.

मन Emotional Whatever we do comes from our relationship with ourselves, with others and with nature.
If the world is cruel, I can do whatever I want to get the most for myself. If I want the world to be kind and fair, I will be considerate, respectful and fair. It starts with knowing myself, and with how I handle what I feel.

Three circles hold this. The morning circle, the lunch circle, and the closing circle, where every child sits down and talks about the day: what excited us, who helped whom, who we are missing.

What the 13 days look like
Every working morning begins in the morning circle with the youngest children. You sit close and watch what 2- and 3-year-olds notice, what they ask, and how the didi answers them. Around that, the 13 days build towards something you make yourself.

Day 1 at Kadam. Thirty children, three teachers, and you, sitting close enough to hear what a two-year-old asks.
Your own learning block
Week 2. With a partner, you design 15 minutes of learning in the Kadam way and run it for the whole group. The group votes. The best one wins.
A day in Delhi
Saturday 19 December. The whole group, out together, to close the 13 days.

A real school, run by people you can name
Children aged 2 to 5 come to Kadam Experiential School, in 3 groups. 30 children have 3 teachers with them all day.
Two people run the 13 days: Aditya Jain, Director, and Bismay Ranjan Pradhan, Vice-Principal. Kadam’s teachers lead the sessions: Sunita (Coordinator, Foundation), Ruby and Gulafsha Naaz (facilitators). A few sessions are taken by guests who work with Kadam.
The school is on the BKPJM campus in Baraut (Baghpat), about an hour from Delhi. BKPJM (Babu Kamta Prasad Jain Mahavidyalaya) has run a college on this campus since 2004.

- TravelPublic transport to Baraut is easy from Delhi and Meerut. A family member may drop off on 6 December, though they can’t stay on campus.

How you’ll know, by the end
By day 13 you will know, because you will have been told three times, by three different people. Every evening you sit with Aditya and Bismay and talk through the day. At the end you get written feedback on your 13 days and a one-to-one conversation. Your learning block comes back with the group’s vote and the facilitators’ notes.

Who can apply
Graduation complete (any year), or final exams by June 2027. No teaching experience needed. You like being with small children. You live on campus for all 13 days.
How selection works
A short form. A screening call in Hindi. A call with your family. Roughly equal numbers of women and men, chosen on how you are with children, not marks or English.

What you take home
Written feedback on your 13 days. The learning block you built. A certificate of the training from BKPJM and Kadam, signed by the Principal and the Director.
The path after Spark
Up to 6 of the 15 may be offered Teachership Flame: two years of teaching at Kadam with a stipend, stay, food and the B.Ed covered. By selection. After that, teaching at Kadam or a partner school may be offered, depending on your work.
Questions people ask
Why is everything covered? What’s the catch?
Kadam is growing and wants to train its own teachers. Spark is where we find them. No fee, no obligation: you can leave at any point. Flame, later, is your choice and only by selection.
Can I live at home, or go to Delhi during Spark?
No. You live on campus for all 13 days, and the group goes out together, with Kadam staff.
Is there a job after Flame?
Not promised. If your work is good, you may be offered teaching at Kadam or at a partner school.
Phones?
You keep your phone. To call home during the working day, use the college office phone.
Is this real?
BKPJM has run a college on this campus since 2004; the address and map are above, and both websites are linked. Selection is free. Spark has no agents, and nobody will ask you for money to apply, be selected or join. Contact only +91 94580 91829 or teachership@bkpjm.org.
